| partners | | | Little hike with Wyatt. Our original plan was to take Gila up to the saddle, then up to Bursera, and return on Bursera to the trailhead. Just before we reached the saddle, it started pouring rain (I think our 4th wave of rain for the morning) and there was some fairly close lightning, so we just turned around and went back down Gila. With lightning, I'd rather stay lower on Gila, rather than more exposed up on Bursera, and the surface of Gila is a lot less slick than Bursera in a rainstorm. I didn't feel like making a five year old try and make it down Bursera without falling. Even with the rain, it was a fun hike with Wyatt, although the topics of conversation were primarily Minecraft, and bodily functions. Gotta love five year old boys... |
