| partners | | | My last weekday morning hike before the kids start Fall Break tomorrow! Daniela & I headed up Telegraph Pass, starting around 8am. The weather was great, cool and raining a little the entire way up. We headed east on National over to Holbert. By the time we reached Holbert, the rain had pretty much stopped. After a short distance on Holbert, we dropped down to the road and walked along it until we reached the 6 mile marker. From there we turned off the road and headed north on the old dirt road that leads to an old lookout. It's on the ridge directly to the east of Dobbins lookout and Holbert. I don't know anything about this old lookout, and hadn't been to it since the late 90's. Obviously, teenagers still hang out here as there was a ton of broken glass everywhere and graffiti on the rocks. Too bad, because it's a nice spot, with the same views of Phx as you can get from Dobbins, but without the people or cars. We headed back the way we came. The sun came out a little on our return, but generally stayed cloudy--I love this weather! We only saw a few people today, nearly all on Telegraph. |
