| no partners | | Went back down to do a little snooping around in search of the elusive wild chile. They are not overly abundant and mostly are found hiding under or tangled in host plants, primarily Hackberry and Wolfberry. I didn't wander around much and didn't find any. I also wanted to check out the upper (right) fork in the road, which stays above the drainages and peters out along the southwest slope of Tumacacori Peak. This is where we parked when I hiked up the peak years ago. I also stopped at the large rock corral which I missed on last week's trip (it is evident on Google Earth).
Though I went looking for chile, the real reason for the trip was to stop for a large delicious chicken burro and fine margarita at Wisdom's Dos! in Tubac on the way home.
Oh yeah, Rocky Raccoon was still there striking a pose. |
