This was posted as a club hike, but it ended up being just Deb and I. Fine by me, since I didn't want any pressure from other hikers to keep moving; my goal is to wander and take pictures at my leisure while in a place such as this. I go over there almost annually during this time of the year just to bask in the fall beauty of the canyon. You can't beat that long run of maples!
Saw some familiar faces from meetup groups while there. I was surprised that we only encountered one family out hiking during the entire time on the trail. Glad we did this on a Friday though, as we knew the area would be pretty crowded over the weekend. It was getting to be zoo like by the time we drove out. Perfect weather day; almost too warm at times. Deborah had rented a cabin at Roper Lake State Park, so I am glad she allowed me to join her there, rather than drive back to Tucson. |
