| no partners | | A quick car camping trip in the Galiuro Mts to check out Fall color and get out with our Jeep for the first time. We knew we were too early for the best color, but we still found some great patches of maples to enjoy.
It seemed pretty dry compared to previous years, but we saw a little bit of standing water when we got close to the upper spring. We didn't check the lower spring box. Instead of continuing up the trail to Bassett Peak, we decided to have some fun scrambling up the canyon past the upper spring and found some more nice patches of color. We also scrambled up a ridge to get some views looking down on the aspen. The weather was perfect-- super calm and very comfortable temps.
The hunters were out in full force, but there were still plenty of car camping spots available. Good times! |
