A return to a favorite of mine with a little fresh twist.
Warm even above 7000’ had my dog and I enjoying every bit of the abundance of water found down in the canyons and up top in the many tanks, draws and springs.
Smelled elk goodies all day long but never actually saw any until the night drive home encountering nearly a hundred throughout the length of the trip including one of which I had to safely merge into the opposite lane to prevent impact with.
Only reason I was driving so late is because I had an unexpected post hike forest dinner with none other than @Oregon_Hiker and @Grasshopper.
It was a pleasure to finally meet, share hiking stories and of course a real treat to finally experience a legendary “Camp Grasshopper” meal as the Chicken à la King was incredible.
