With the area receiving around 6 inches of rain in the last month and at least 12 inches this monsoon season we wanted to come back and see how different it looked vs our last visit back in June.
It was awesome. Mud and water everywhere. So green. Grass and brush that was non existent a couple months ago 4 ft tall! All the drainages had water, some even running quite nicely! Thought about checking out the waterfall by Grapevine Springs but with the our son strapped up in the baby carrier Didn’t want to push it. Wildlife was out in force. Saw at least 4-5 deer most were bucks and 3 turkeys. The amount of tracks in the mud made it seem like it was a highway up there.
On the way back decided to hike down one of the canyons/drainages and it was the highlight of the day. Lots of flowing water and big pools! Love how monsoon season really transformed this place.
