I really wanted to hike Heliograph Peak from Arcadia CG, but that hike is 3 to 3&1/2 hours away. I'm not really in a long drive mood. I do enjoy this hike, and though not as cool or high as Heliograph, it isn't overgrown. It was, however, rather warm on top and hot at the bottom. However, 98 degrees at the TH is about a perfect hot day, in my opinion. Feels mild compared to 108.

Up Ice House, hiked both summits, and down Six Shooter. Things are greening nicely after that fire a few years back.

Still a lot of birds, along with the cicadas, which is nice. I stopped on the way down in a leafy area to listen to what sounded like several Hermit Thrushes calling. It was nice.

Down in the Chaparral, the wind was picking up and it was cooling off. Very pleasant.
