| no partners | | | Wanted to test out a pair of new Salomon hiking shoes so decided to come out to Usery Park. Parked at the pass mountain trailhead and started hiking on the pass mountain trail to the wind cave trail. Enjoy the cool down returning on this short stretch of trail vs starting at the wind cave parking lot. Once on the wind cave trail it was average busy for a weekday , steady flow of hikers surprisingly giving way for my uphill progress. Once pass the non maintained sign ran into one young lady having some solitude time sitting on a rock, found no one else up here. A little below the summit came upon a crevice with significant bee activity since I had my glimpse at Superstition Mountain from here decided not to press my luck and proceed further. On the way down only a couple of people in the Cave, on the way up was the largest Great Dane I’ve ever seen. Lower down I paused as 3 young ladies went running by, after they assured me no bears were chasing us I resumed my leisurely pace back to pass mountain trail. From there back to pass mountain trailhead, nice day for a hike |
