Also first time doing Bursera the opposite way. Saw a few hikers today. I noticed from top of Bursera that there is progress being made on the proposed Shaugnessey trail. From the top of the mountain I followed ( visually) a trail of orange ribbons heading down the side of the mountain. I could see that they have cleared out a distinctive trail starting at the intersection of Shaugnessey and Chandler. So later in the day I did some nosing around and there is about 1/2 mile of trail from the TH. They are that far from the base of the mountain. Curious to see how they follow the ribbons up the side of the mountain. Good day for a hike.
