Walking the neighborhood the last few days seeing the mountains in the distance. Like they were calling me so I couldn’t resist and did just that!!! Headed for the hills!!! Left the house on foot walking up Chandler Blvd and all along noticed painted rocks with encouraging phrases on them. (Photoset). Someone is clever!!! Been walking the roads for the past few days so I decided to meander off the pavement and off-road skirting the slopes of the mountain. Lots of garbage off the road! People are pigs!! When I got the Bursera TH I came across a different kind of trash!! Baggies of ———-!!! The parking lot was 1/3 full whereas this time last week it was overflowing!! Lots of hikers coming off the mountain as I went up. Got to where the orange ribbons started for the proposed Shaughnessey trail and headed down. Have gone up the orange ribbon trail but first time going down. I got 100 ft off the Bursea trail and heard the sound that all hikers like to avoid. A RATTLESNAKE!!! Good time to practice social distancing!! 😊 Followed the ribbons down and it was slow going. Going up an unimproved trail is easier than going down. Things looked different and I could swear someone moved the ribbons on me!! 😆😆 Encountered a Lovable Teddy bear cacti that got me. Had to stop and pull out the quills that went through my boot and socks. OUCH!! Got warm when I got to the improved part of the trail. Good day!!! Great hike!!! HAPPY HIKING AND STAY SAFE!!!
