| no partners | | A hike we like that is close to home to get in a few miles. CCW lasso loop starting at the P.A. Seitts Trailhead using the Military, Flat Rock, Quartz, and Slate trails. Route shown in photoset. We were planning on a 7 mile loop bringing the Go John Trail into the mix but the smokey air and a last minute dentist appointment nixed that.
On the way in to the State Land Trust we were greeted by a young Diamondback Rattlesnake in the trail. It was still dark but I heard him and got a photo. Afterward we assisted him off the trail.
The creek was not running but everything was green and pretty aside from the dead Stinknet that seemed to be everywhere on the east side of the creek. On the return part of the lasso we visited the rock Cathy tripped over earlier this month so she could make peace with it. [ photo ] It is now known as "smash face rock". |
