A hike up Peters trail to Crab Canyon. We were looking for an old route which seems to have faded into oblivion. There was a cross placed in 2016 where Jesse Capen was found. The Woodbury fire charred the wood but only on the surface. We hiked to a high point farther down and took a break. On the way out we stopped by the helicopter wreckage left in the canyon. There was not much to see but something I read about once so worth a look. Peters Trail is overgrown and messy but it's wilderness. Kane spring is full and there is water below it in the wash. The spring area looks different without the bushes. We saw two backpackers hiking in when we were hiking out. Not sure where they are from since they said they originally planned on hiking to Reavis Ranch but didn't know the road was closed? There was a truck with Utah plates parked at the trailhead. The temperature was nice but the wind coming over the saddle was annoying. A nice day out in the Supes.
