The morning was cold and the sitting water on the trail road was solid ice. I went beyond the cabin and back tracked off trail. I was within 50 feet of it a still could not see it. It's well hidden in the bushes but now that I know the landmarks it will be easy to find in the future. I continued down the trail which seemed easier to follow this trip. There was no sun in Haunted Canyon so I kept my jacket on until the last few miles on the way out. As usual I ventured off trail but saw nothing of interest so circled back. I decided tp stop a Tony Cabin since I was close by and ate some Christmas cookies sitting in the sun nearby. The hike out went fast and I saw several hikers coming in on the last few miles.
