| no partners | | | #17 of 50 hikes. My family has been participating in the Sunflower Marathon Relay in Washington for many years and I was finally able to join them this year. Our five member relay team named "Y Not" was Elliott (2.2 miles, great nephew), Lauren (5.6 miles, niece), Heather (5.9 miles, co-worker of Lauren), Ryan (6.5 miles, co-worker of Lauren), and then me (6.6 miles). The total mileage was about a half mile longer than a normal marathon length. The race route started in Mazama winding up and down through beautiful pines trees on public trails and private property ending in Twisp. The day was overcast with occasion light rain which made it perfect weather for trail running. I told my team I planned on taking about 3 to 5 pictures while running, but ended up taking 15 beautiful pictures! It was an amazing experience and an unforgettable trail run! |
