Started out with some family, but they decided to drop out after half a mile due to the steepness and heat. Continued on my own and got a nice workout. Patsy's Mine was a cute little side trip to the top. Flag Rock was spectacular with its views of Davis County and the south end of the Great Salt Lake. I was warned by passing hikers of rattlesnakes near the top, so had to take it slow, making plenty of noise; kinda took the fun-sightseeing part out of the hike. Luckily I didn't see or hear any. I was disappointed with the beginning/end of the trail. Housing developments in the area has altered the route and I couldn't find the Flag Rock trail, so I changed course and went up the Patsy's Mine way. Coming back around, I just "figured" my way out, mainly through "private property" construction areas. The last half mile was walking/running on the street back to my car. |
