We parked and hiked up via Butlers Fork. The trail was lush and green with tons of wild flowers. I hiked this trail last fall in November and the difference was astonishing! Once we reached the lake and decided on our camping spot, we were greeted by our neighborly deer and walked around the small lake taking beautiful pictures. We then hiked up to Reynolds Peak without our backpacks. I didn't record the hike and I regret it! AllTrails listed as 0.4 miles but that was definitely wrong. It was a hard climb to the top and I guess it was probably 1.5 miles round trip, so it would have been worth the record. The night was extremely quiet. Too quiet. No crickets, no frogs, no wind. It actually made it difficult to sleep, but I enjoyed the time spent outdoors and with my daughter. |
