The second day of my backpacking trip with my daughter started out with a spectacular sunrise at Dog Lake in Big Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City, Utah. I was reluctant to return to civilization, so we took our time packing up. On our way out, we were graced to see a moose at the lake!! We saw several mountain bikers pass the lake the day before and also that morning, but that morning there were quite of few hikers with their dogs. The moose paid more attention to the dogs, and luckily the owners kept their dogs under control. We hiked out via Mill D North Fork to the road and back to our parked car. Once again, we had magnificent views, beautiful wild flowers, and little critters along the way to make our trip a memorable one! |
