My favorite direction for this hike is clockwise. So that is what I did. As I drove to the trailhead I was following the edge of the rain. Peralta road was totally mud. For the entire hike clouds were low, hiding many of the peaks. The Dutchman's trail was mostly covered by long grass. And all of it was wet from the rain. My legs and feet were soaked. By the time I got by miner's needle I was right on the edge of the clouds, making it very cold. But it was still a very enjoyable hike.
