| no partners | | Took the family out for my first hike of 2022. I was told to keep the hike to flat trails, so making a drive up the MSPN seemed like the best move. the Whiskey Bottle Loop is at an area I haven't hiked in several years and it's not too far of a drive.
Temp at the start was 38 degrees, everyone had light gloves on. Several mud puddles were still present from the recent rains, but they were mostly frozen and crunchy as you walked on them. After an hour or so it warmed up a bit, but the breezes kept going to keep it a bit cooler. sky was totally clear the entire time. Some snow is still visible on Four Peaks, Ord, and up into the Mazzies.
When we finished the loop, we did the Camino Campana Trail, a shorter interpretive lasso loop at the trailhead, which added almost another mile and also has some nice views. Stopped in Fountain Hills for lunch on the way home. |
