| partners | | | Jim is town for the holidays and wanted to do a hike. The Steeler game started later, so the Goldfields looked like the best option to do a shorter hike close to home. We started from the Tomahawk Mine TH and headed out on that trail to the Horse with No Name Trail. Horse with No Name is one of the best trails in this area. The high point has some amazing scenery and interesting rock formations. The clouds started to clear at this point, allowing the sunlight to accent the color in this area. Once we got back down to the washes, we decided to head back on the Hope is Lost Trail and head back on FR1356. Didn't see any other hikers at all and not even any 4 wheelers, which was a bit of a surprise. Finished up just before 11am and stopped at Senor Taco for lunch. Nice to get out in cooler weather with some water still in the washes after the big Christmas rain. |
