| no partners | | We had a party planned for Saturday night so I had to pick something close by and not too long. this one fit the bill. I did this loop a few years ago, but I think I added Black Top Mesa to it. This time was just a quick loop. One of then nicer ones to not have to drive too far and just get deep enough into the wilderness before you turn around.
at the start it was a bit chilly, I was wondering if I should have brought an extra shirt. 10 minutes later it was obviously a good thing I didn't. Clear skies all day made for some nice pics. I was messing with the settings on my camera a few days earlier and left the date and time stamp on, so all these pics have that  .
A half mile from the trailhead I was just about to pass 2 older ladies hiking together when the one tripped on root and smacked her head off the ground. She had a bloody nose and was disoriented but seemed in ok shape considering. I stayed with them for a while until it seemed like it wasn't an emergency and told them I was heading on. they asked me to relay the info on their situation to the rangers at the trailhead, which I did. they had a few questions of the specifics for me, I showed them on the map at the kiosk where the spill occurred, etc. Got home before noon. |
