Petrophile

Petrophile put together a glyph-hunting outing to the lower Gila River and Ali and I came along.

First stop was down near Wellton, further downstream than I've ever gone. An old magazine article said there were glyphs out there somewhere. We cast a wide net and found boulders with archaic-looking markings covering a large area. We walked about 5mi back and forth looking for the Easter eggs - fun time but the glyphs were not so impressive - mainly circles!

We next stopped at a hard-to-access small hill where we found a pretty cool petroglyph that Petrophile knew about.

Then a big hill, one I thought that probably well known on HAZ. A search tells me it's not well known so I won't name it here, but it had plenty of petroglyphs along the section we walked.
