| no partners | | It was time for a little exploration. I wanted to start early but wasn't feeling it so I slept in another 30 minutes. I got to the Tule trailhead just after 7:30am. It was a balmy 27 degrees and I was glad the sun was out. The breeze was mild on the way up but punishing on Two Bar Ridge. The Tule trail is in decent shape. Its fairly easy to follow and the brush is growing back which adds to the views. This happens to be one of the better uphill climbs in the Superstitions. Once you get up on Two Bar Ridge you get to hike back down 900 feet if you keep going. I went down to the wash and decided to go off the rails on the crazy train or I mean off trail to look around again. The route was near the real Klondike Spring but I had gone up the wrong wash. The spring would wait for another day so it was back to the trail to find a lunch spot. The on trail ruin was a nice place to take a break and refuel. After enjoying the 900 foot climb back up to Two Bar Ridge it was an easy stroll back down the Tule trail. I saw three to six white-tailed deer along the way and two other hikers. Just another good day in the Supes. |
