Plenty of water at the spring including a game camera that I gave a one finger salute to . Continued on Barbershop until I got to the top of the ridge near Dane Canyon then headed over to check out FR321 Spring. After poking around that area for a few I hiked up an old two track and headed down into Bill McClintock Draw. The meadow was pretty muddy and wet from all the snow melt so staying out of the middle of it was the best option. Headed back over to Coyote Spring and back to the truck. Heading back down the 300, I spotted an unattended campfire that was still smoldering. I didn't have any extra water with me so I hand shoveled dirt on it until it was completely out. Just amazing me that people can be so irresponsible! First hike of the year up in the pines with perfect weather and no people in sight. Perfect way to spend a Monday. |
