| no partners | | I was worried about parking but there was three spots left when I pulled in. After I was done and leaving there were many cars parked on the road too, so parking doesn't seem to be a worry.
I enjoyed the Dixie Mine trail a lot. I saw a few people on it on my way out but that was close to the road up to Thompson Peak. Some of them were on those eBikes. I really am against that. I did come upon a herd of seven deer; that was fun. I stopped and shed a layer as I was getting warm.
The climb is quite a calf burner on the steep pitches. As I ascended it got cooler and the wind was really blowing near the summit. The last pitch was more leeward so I stopped to put my long sleeves on again as I was getting cold, even with the effort from the climb. I made it to the top then headed back down fairly quick. I had to hold my hat on for a bit the wind was so strong. It was nice to finally descend below the wind.
I was expecting the Daisy Mine trail to be fairly quiet on the way back, but there were lots and lots of people heading towards the mine. |
