At 5pm I decided to go for a quick hike on the Prospector Loop. Sunset was going to be at about 6:00, and the moon was new, but I had my headlamp so no worries.

When I got to the base of what used to be called the Eliminator trail a lot of the hill was still sunlit. It looked like I could get to the sunlight, but the shadow moved uphill faster than I did and I never caught up to it. I got to the top in twilight and started down right away. Good workout.

I made it most of the way down as the light dimmed, and then discovered that the headlamp wasn't working. Uh oh. I continued without it and got off the hill, but eventually it got too dark and I had to use my phone flashlight for over a mile.
