What a difference a week makes. A remarkably similar forecast and yet it was much warmer today. I was comfortable shirtless on the summit around 3 PM with calm air, and I never needed my coat. Perfectly calm and silent up there, too. Most of the snow is gone.

Bruce Mountain in the Mustang Mountains got postponed, so I thought I would check out McBeth Spring and then head for the summit. I went up #134 to Josephine Saddle, out to McBeth where I relaxed for a while, and then the rest of the summit on the standard route. I didn't want to hike out much after dark, so skipped the descent on #134 and just did it the usual way.

The huge Apache Pines at McBeth were very impressive. Flow remains good and the tank was clear.

I summited that little hill off the trail below the switchbacks to the summit. Why not?
