| no partners | | I hadn't been to Ironwood Forest National Monument for quite a few years but came up with an idea to look at some new places. The plan was to walk some ridges on the big hill and see what I could find.
As usual I had some uncertainty driving the Santa Cruz river crossing (it flows with Tucson's treated water I believe). It looked OK but wanted to see a truck do it first...then a guy on a bike came by and waded it. No problem! Though I was surprised on my return when the water splashed over my hood.
I'm pretty sure few people go where I went which makes it more fun that I did find a few petroglyphs. I finished with a visit to a nice petroglyph site I'd been to before. My recent strategy of "nibbling around the edges" of favorite places is working out OK.
