Needed something close to home and only had a couple of hours because I had House maintenance to do. We picked Cienega Creek. Took the AZ Trail at Gabe Zimmerman trail head and headed east up the creek. Planned on hiking in 3 miles then return. Only made it a little over 2.5 because the flow impeded our progress. Sometimes it's vegetation other times its water flow. Always a pleasant hike though. At one point we headed up to the train tracks to avoid having to walk through water. Found evidence of the old track bed when it ran closer to the creek. This section was flooded out in the late 1800's and was rerouted higher up where it is today. Lots of history in this area going back to 1850.

Creek was running with a light flow at Marsh Station Road and the Train Bridges then no flow for about half a mile then good flow the rest of the way.
