| no partners | | Over three years since our last trip out to Haunted Canyon so this was way overdue.
Excellent road conditions through the mine to the TH. 287A up to the Upper Haunted Canyon TH was in nice shape as well.
Nice flow of water along the way, all the way to the Bull Basin Trail junction, but easy to stay dry at all the crossings. Trail conditions along the way were great, no overgrowth at all. Saw a pair of campers at the corral and another pair at the fork to Toney's Ranch/Cabin, otherwise we had the trail to ourselves. Saw two deer as we approached the cabin site.
Fueled up at the Bull Basin Trail junction then headed up to the Upper TH. Slight overgrowth along the way to the tank but not that bad. Could see signs of recent trail maintenance from the tank to the upper TH, smooth sailing. Hit the road, took a short break, then sailed down 287A to the lower TH, only seeing one vehicle the entire 4.2 miles.
Perfect day on the trails. |
