Did a day trip out to visit the dwellings. Road in wasn’t bad, the last half mile or so was the worst but still not terrible. Would recommend high clearance at least though.

Took us about 2 hours to get down to the dwellings. Trail was pretty good most of the way. A few downed trees in a couple spots but you could easily find the trail going around them. Took our dog and he did great!

Dwellings were really neat to see. I’ve visited others in Sedona and the Sierra Anchas as well and like the remoteness of these. We saw one group of like 6 people on our hike in and that was it.

Also, there was no water in the creek bed.

Wanted to explore a different part of WCC and decided to check out the Calloway trail. We drove in from Toms Creek Road off the 260. The truck we were in didn’t have 4WD so we only made it a mile or so down the road before deciding to just park and walk the rest of the way. It was a short hike to the campsite anyway so was nice to get the extra miles in. Once we got down into the canyon we went left/west and found a spot to camp about 50 yards down or so. Luckily no one was there because we hiked another ~2 miles downstream (without our packs) and only saw one tiny little campsite. The water was nice and refreshing, we walked in it most of the way. Only one spot was kind of deep, about waist high. The campsite was great! Hike back out was a good challenge, that trail getting to the top of the canyon is steep! Great little weekend overnight though.

A bit late on posting this. Did an overnight backpack hike in the Turkey Beaver Wilderness area. There were still colorful leaves all over. We found a nice little spot to camp out up on the side of the dry riverbed. Not a difficult hike as there wasn’t much elevation gain. Saw a bobcat and a bunch of scat.

Camped about a mile down the road from the trailhead in a beautiful meadow area. Hike up the East Baldy trail and got to the lookout to enjoy the view. A few minutes later it started raining and hailing ha. Rained a couple more times the rest of the day but sure didn’t mind, considering it was 110° back in Phoenix!

Just now getting around to loading this hike. Did a solo backpacking overnight to Taylor Cabin. Started out at Sycamore Basin TH, checked out the ruins quick then made my way on my adventure! Followed a couple of the previous routes listed to find my way down into the canyon then hiked up for a while until I hit the side canyon where I was planning on exiting and catching the Dogie trail. Once I got into said side canyon I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a way up :scared: It wouldn't have been too difficult with just a day pack on...but it's a different story with a full on pack with overnight gear. I eventually made my way up out of the canyon and found my way over to the Dogie trail.

I enjoyed a nice hike on an actual trail  over to the Casner trail. The hike up Casner Mountain was a beast! Especially after already having hike down and back out of the canyon. I slowly made my way up Casner (with a few breaks to rest!) and up and down to where the Taylor Cabin trail connects. The hike along Casner was beautiful with some great views on both sides. Taylor cabin trail was quite pretty - starting in some pines and then winding down a narrowish canyon eventually getting back down into Sycamore Canyon. I stopped for a few to enjoy the scenery at the Sycamore Creek/Taylor Cabin Trail junction and filtered some water. Then I made my way down the canyon and to Taylor Cabin for the night. I was the only one there and it was quite peaceful to be out there all alone. The following day I got up and made my way back to the car following the Sycamore Basin trail. This was one of my favorite hikes - very pretty!

My phone was dying a bit before I got to the cabin so I stopped tracking the route to save battery life. Edited it on here though so that's why the route looks a bit funky for part of it :D

Visited the Pueblo Canyon dwellings. Have been to Devil’s Chasm and wanted to check these out. Was able to drive all the way to the trail head - thanks to a fellow poster for updating on the removal of the big boulder blocking the road. So fascinating to see these dwellings! Waterfall was flowing pretty good and we even saw a black bear from across the canyon!

Camped out at Sheep Bridge and wanted to get some miles in so hiked out to Willow Springs. Beautiful hike going through a meadow like area with wildflowers and ending at the springs. The water was flowing pretty well and there’s a nice campsite there for backpackers.

Did a loop using a prior triplog (half moon, rock creek, divide trail, and barnhardt trail.) Did it counterclockwise and got in some good elevation the first several miles. There were several waterfalls along the way that were flowing decently. Deadman/Sandy were flowing pretty well! Spent an hour or two walking around the top of the rim. Will have to go back and hike down into the canyon.

Road was in good condition. No issues getting all the way down to the river. Granted I was in a 4WD truck. High clearance probably recommended and can always park up top instead of driving down the last 1/4 mile to the river.

This trail was a lot of fun. I used one of the previous routes as a guide. Hiked down to the salt river - it was gorgeous! No defined trail, so requires some bushwhacking but wasn’t too bad. The dirt road in wasn’t terrible but I would probably advise at least high clearance when dry, 4x4 if muddy. I didn’t see a single person all day.
