UL The jagged limestone massif you see in your image is part of the Picos de la Mortera range, which towers over the town.
Middle right and bottom right: This is what the area is known for. I covered a lot of it in the video. It would be a fun thing to try at a HAZfest. Cider is served in small quantities (culinos) from a considerable height to aerate it, and should be drunk in one gulp.
Production: Asturias produces 80% of the cider in Spain, using more than 500 varieties of apples. Cider in Pola de Somiedo, as a central part of Asturian culture (Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO)It is a traditional, natural, low-alcohol (approximately 5-6% ABV) beverage. It is made by fermenting local apple varieties. In local bars, it is consumed using the traditional pouring method.
