And just like in Glacier Park, in the middle of the photo, the deep depressions you see between these peaks are ancient glacial cirques. These basins collect snow that feeds the Río Somiedo down in the valley floor.
Pico Cornón (The Massive Peak) is on the left far background. It is the highest point in the Somiedo Natural Park (2,188m/7,178 feet).
