Interesting to see the older teitos and caved in one. I wonder if the one on the right will be re-done.
The Valle del Río Somiedo
The deep V-shaped valley dropping away in the center-right is the main Somiedo River Valley.
The Road: You can see the winding white ribbon of the AS-227 road snaking along the valley floor. This road eventually leads up to the Puerto de Somiedo (the mountain pass into León).
Forest transition: The slopes across the valley are covered in dense Beech forests. At this mid-October timing, the very highest ridges are starting to show a "rusty" orange tint, while the valley floor remains a vibrant green.
The patchwork of bright green fields in the mid-ground (on the left slope) are the Prados de Siega (mowing meadows) belonging to the village of El Llamardal. These are some of the highest hay meadows in the park, maintained specifically to provide winter fodder for the cows that spend their summers right where you are standing.
