| no partners | | Amy and I hiked this gem and it was a bit of a roller coaster ride. We saw much wildlife, beautiful weather, amazing terrain, great views, waterfalls, some friendly rangers at Manning Camp. Then it was a wrong turn, a rain storm, a bunch of overgrowth and a long trip down to where Mark (Amy's dude) would pick up Amy at the end of Passage 9 and then me at Reddington Road.
On our journey we saw several white tail deer including a baby one, a vulture/eagle (not sure which it was), a Mohave rattle snake, a desert tortoise, a tarantula and all the other usual critters.
It was quite the adventure I tell ya! The bad news is that the wrong turn cost us 2.6 extra miles. It also meant that I missed the mile just north of Italian Spring as we looped around to it. I would have gone back and completed that mile at the time but the storm was rolling in and leaving my wing woman wasn't the right thing to do. I did think about it real hard however! 
Looks like I will be heading back to the top of the Rincon's real soon to get that missing mile.  |
