Lunch helped revive us but it wasn't enough, Besides, on the trail where you never see anyone we met Tough Boots and friend who warned us the decent on the NW side was treacherous. They were coming down and we met them about 45 seconds after commenting that even on a busy day in the Supes, we'd never see anyone on THIS trail. It was indeed busy, seldom was there a time when another hiker(s)wasn't in sight. On the way down on the east side of Miner's Needle we passed a group of four who worried us, they didn't appear to have much water and were going very slow. We waited at a few spots but never did see them again, so left word with the grad students doing survey's at the TH. From the news it appears they made it out, but several others had problems.
A great day regardless, followed again by dinner at Tres Banderos, the favorite dive in AJ. |
