Nice weather for a hike. About 20 vehicles at TH when we arrived, a few less on the return, however there were at least 25 vehicles parked in the overflow so it must have been busy during the day.

Plenty of folks milling around the trail log including two FS volunteers. Thankfully the scouts and almost everyone else either took the Peralta or Dutchman trail so we didn't have to deal with that mess.

The hike out to the summit went without any drama... pretty much just following the trails. On the return we met 14 hikers and 2 backpackers. Three of the hiking groups (2, 2 & 4 hikers) had issues...
Couple #1: Thought they were going to Fremont Saddle (only 2.5 miles out on Bluff Springs Trail)

Couple #2: Took an iPhone photo of the map at TH of the 235/104 loop and thought the hike would only be 6 miles. (And by now, her iPhone was almost dead) Quite surprised when we told them that was just the Dutchman portion. The woman became anxious but the guy blew it off as no big deal.

4 Hikers: Met them just past Cardiac Hill around 3 pm. They planned the same 235/104 loop as couple #2 and also had the same incorrect distance information. The two guys didn't appear to have more than one 20 oz bottle each so we told them they could lap water from the pools here and there if they ran out. Ha! They thought we were joking... we weren't.
:o
When we got back to the TH we mentioned to the FS volunteer who was still there it's a good thing for a full moon as the rescue folks may have their work cut out for them if any of the 50% of the folks we met ran into any trouble. Hopefully they all made it out without incident.

I guess we'll be doing more off-trail hiking for the rest of snow-bird season.
