Drove up Saturday morning and explored the area some more. Car camped saturday night near Green's Peak along FR 117. Lots of cows, lots of campers, and some rain. Sunday met up with Eric, and hiked from the West Fork trailhead 3 miles to the West Fork of the Black River. Tons of afternoon rain and a raingear malfunction made for mixed pleasure and pain. Warm overnight with no rain. Next morning hiked out and eschewed another night of rainy backpacking for beer and backpacking food in a Springerville hotel. Tuesday morning hiked a little ways up the Baldy trail until the lightning became a threat, then bailed out for the long drive back to Hell.
