Update...when I drove across this area again two weeks later I realized the place I took my photos was at the Maricopa Mountains, not the Sand Tanks along I-8. :oops:

Stopped along I-8 east of Gila Bend on my way to California to get some wildflower pictures. Overall the wildflower action was light, but along the highway the show was really quite nice (especially the Lupines) all the way from Casa Grande to Gila Bend. Of course the Brittlebush was dominant and it kept on rocking down the highway all the way to Yuma! :)
