| no partners | | three hours of easy overtime this morning, then headed for the 19th avenue trailhead to hike maricopa peak via warrior
recently the dude went up to the peak from the east side, so i thought i would try it
got started around 6:00
cool temps, a nice breeze and no gnats 
warrior offers a good steep ascent right from the start
over starr peak, then along a ridge that connects with alta trail
15-20 feet west of signpost #7, take off to the southwest and follow the maricopa peak ridgeline
there's a faint but decent use trail, and as the dude commented, better to go up this way than down
steep but no exposure and nothing sketchy at all - one little dropoff
nothing difficult and if you stay on the ridge, you can't lose the trail
reached the summit, looked around a bit, hit the south part of the peak and headed down to the west
there is a more obvious trail down to signpost #8, then back on alta, and down warrior
the loop of the peak was a lot of fun, and i will definitely do it that way again
my stats are pieced together from a partial track due to technical difficulty with my gps at the start
