I would say this was my first real hike of the year. I forget how hard this is when I haven't done it in a while. The heat made it harder and I didn't have enough water with me. It was 97 at the trailhead when I finished, so it might have been nearer to 100 in the canyon mouth. It still was really nice to hike this, and nice to get back to Tucson. Everything was dry in the canyon and pretty much everything is done flowering in the lower elevations. Makes sense, since I saw some poppies flowering on the side of 10 in New Mexico. The birds here are incredible. Something which is never lost on me in spring.
