It was quite hot today on this hike, but I seemed to escape the 110 temps near the bottom. It didn't feel like I remember it feeling when I did it this time last year, but I am acclimated to the heat, slightly. It was 85 on top in the shade, in the low 90s near the top of the canyon, and mid to high 90s in the canyon. Respectable, but not lethal. I just went slower. Cicadas are out in full song, and it's clearly summer. 6 Liters of water, lots of stopping, and going slow helped. I am temped to check the workout box for this, but at a 9 hour hike, I don't think it really qualifies.
