Yes super humans have done it at his desired pace and even faster. Still I knew that was a lofty goal. I told him I was planning on hitting it in 2 hours and hopefully a tad quicker.
We arrived at a little after 8am and he gave me a head start. The whole way up I pushed at a moderate to brisk pace. I would have pushed harder but feared I would exhaust all my energy.
Staying on trail went smooth and I hit the top in 1:48. A new record for me which was cool. About a minute later Joe arrived. He had missed a couple turns and his watch had .2 of a mile more than mine. His time: 1:43! Wow pretty impressive for never even doing this one before and taking a couple wrong turns.
I'm thinking on his next trip he may just get that 1:30.
Outside of the race to the top this one was great as always. There were several flowers in bloom and still a bit of water in the canyon.
Good times. |
