| no partners | | Randy (RWStorm) warned me that it might be wet down at Madera Canyon. I figured I would take my chances and make a go of it anyway. I am glad I did.
From the moment I arrived the clouds were hanging low with Mount Wrightson poking through in the background. It was surreal.
I started hiking and it was misty out but no rain yet. This continued all the way to the final half mile. That's when it started to sprinkle. When I arrived up top I was literally in the clouds. It was chilly but the views of the clouds had me captured. I stayed there for quite sometime taking pictures.
Then the rain picked up and I decided I better get out of Dodge. As I descended it was like hiking in a tropical rainforest. Super cool. Beyond Josephine saddle it was fairly dry and smooth sailing all the way back to the Trailhead.
I wore the Solomon Speedcross 3 shoes today and they performed excellent. Maybe even gave me a little extra edge going up. Very light shoe. |
