| no partners | | | Due to nursing a hangover all day and cancelling my original trip plans I decided to finally get up and out of the house and make the quick drive to Vulture Peak. This has been in my list for awhile and what better way to sweat out some leftover booze from the night before than a short steep hike! I didn't even make to the TH until 6:30 so I started my hike off with a beautiful sunset behind me to the west and just as made it to the off trail short scramble just below the peaks summit I relaized my headlamp was very low on batteries! After that realization I debated wether to push forward knowing my descent would be in the black of the night but I proceeded to push forward. The views were awesome! I honestly want to camp up there (not sure if it's allowed) one of these days and then head to work the following day! The scramble down was a little sketchy but luckily I had my trusty iPhone light to guide me down otherwise I would have been SOL! Only a 45 min drive from my house in Surprise so I will have to return for a proper sunrise hike or something like that in the future! |
