| no partners | | When I saw those 4-6 inch rain totals from Southeastern Arizona Sky Islands associated with dying tropical storm Newton passing across the area on the 7th, I knew a trip to look at Carr Falls was in order. What I didn't plan on was a road closed sign by the houses at the first stream crossing. I was determined to get a closer look, so parked the truck at that point, found some sandals in the back, and headed up the road. The stream had a strong flow, but nothing dangerous at that time. The walk up to the bridge below the falls was well worth it! On the way back I spotted two very young deer (no more than 4 feet tall), poking their heads up through the tall grass. So cute...that was a real treat! By the time I got back to the truck, the road closed sign was gone and folks were starting to drive in to check things out.
