Its been a while since I bagged Spruce. Been having too much fun with all the possiblities Tritle has to offer. Nevertheless, been taking my new hike partner on something new every week. Two weeks ago I took him up Tritle; last week was Union/Davis, today was Spruce. Next week we will hit Sun Devil Peak (6903') and Bear Down Mountain (6962').

Back to Spruce: Beautiful Fall colours. Breezy and cool. Wonderful day for a pre-work fitness hike. South ridgeline of Spruce Mountain forest bushwhack to junction of Isabella Trail & Groom Creek Trail. Not much of a bush whack anymore, I have cleaned up the route pretty good. We were on the Isabella for all but 8 feet before connecting onto GC #307. Turned off to find the "Spruce Heli-pad" which I think does not exist. Am I missing something? I look for it everytime I'm up here. Ohh well. Ridgelined up and over from "heli-pad" area, until connecting to 307 again thence on to summit. Never saw any wildlife, nor any hikers, mtn bikers, or horse peeps on the 307.
