You cant ask for better conditions for a Humphreys summit bag. Bright, sunny, no ice, no sleeting, no snow, no lightening. Just a little wind but it kept things cool. Of my many many Humphreys bag's, have never recalled such awesome weather conditions.

Launched with 13 compadres with the TLC Hiking Group from the Lockett Meadow TH at 7am. I thought that living at 7060' and car camping the night before (at 8335' +/-) that I might have an edge to keep up with the TLC bad asses. Not so. These guys (and gals) are extreme fitness hikers.... UDH is their middle name (Ulta Day Hike). Although I am more of weekly "pre work" fitness hike kind of guy, I'll partake in their madness once in a while.

16.81 Miles; 4750' Accumulated Elevation Gain.

I pre-hydrated with 2 Quarts of Water. Packed 4 Quarts for the adventure (2 for me; 2 for my 4-legged hike compadre). Didnt work out. I know a thing or two about elevation sickness. Planned on 2-hour breaks with 5 minutes of lying down and elevating my feet to flush lactic acid build up with snacks and hydration. First break was at the Doyle Spring and as usual, was dry. Caught up with one of my hike compadres at 10:50 just before the descent to the Agassiz/Humphrey saddle. Could not believe the shear volume of people on the saddle and along the trail to the Humphrey summit. Thats great for Flagstaff, good for them. Taking a break with a protective Black Mouth Cur, finding a place to take 10 presented a slight challenge. We took 5 (more like 15), at 12250', upon getting up, I felt dizzy like someone just put my head in a vice. Being less then 3/4 miles to summit I was not going to abort. Circled the summit hut and headed back down. The climb back up Agassiz ridge was brutal and punishing. Stopped 3x. Took a power nap at the Freemont/Agassiz saddle first camp fire ring and managed to get my hands on some Ibuprofen. Coud not wait to blow chunks. Passing the Doyle spring dry heaved and within 20 minutes was getting a 3rd or 4th wind.
