When I did the Warrior Trail 2 months ago, I noticed the Ma Ha Tauk Perimeter Trail that looked like it had been continued from the San Juan TH, where I had hiked portions of it in the early summer. Ted and I had hiked to the end of this from from the west side, I wanted to go back to see if they finished it. they did. and in the meantime, a track and description setup has been posted on HAZ for this trail.

I started off hiking up the Warrior Trail again for 2 reasons. First, to beat the sun in my eyes when I headed eastbound. Second, I hadn't done the T-bone loop portion back down to the 19th Ave TH. I hiked up the Warrior Trail in the dark with my headlamp the whole time. The chilly weather was great for keeping cool as I heated up with the steep climb. Along the ridge at the top, it got chilly quickly as I wasn't burning as much energy anymore. On my way down, I missed the "official" trail and hiked down what looked to be a trail that they're trying to decommission.

Once back at the 19th Ave TH, I took the Ma Ha Tauk Perimeter Trail westbound to where I left off before. They definitely have done a lot of work here since last June. Some sections even have posts and cables as a guardrail, not really sure why.

Back at 19th Ave once again, I hiked over to the Max Delta Trail and back on the Las Lomitas and back to the 19th Ave again to finish the day.

My route allowed me to stay in the shade for the first 3+ hours and over 6 miles before I was in direct sunlight. The cooler weather was very nice, even though I was still sweating. The weather was very hazy most of the morning, typical of the bad air this time of year.

Surprised to get another 1000+ AEG after I finished the Warrior Trail. The Ma Ha Tauk Perimeter has quite a few climbs to it and isn't really level at all. Then the Max Delta had a bit of climb, too. Nice to get a decent workout in with the extra AEG.
